No Stress – Try to keep your stress level low especially if you’re
the host or hostess. Keep it
simple! Good food is great but your
company is even better so if you have to shave down the menu a bit or prepare a
few items earlier to lower your stress level then do what you have to do. If someone offers to help, let them! Enjoy the day!
Invite A Friend – If you know someone doesn’t really have plans,
invite them over to share the day with you and your family. One more person is not going to hurt. Remember the true meaning is giving thanks
and that includes being thankful for good friends.
Bring Alternatives – If you’re watching what you eat and want to
keep it healthy, bring a couple of healthy food alternatives. Make sure you consult the host or hostess
first but I’m sure they won’t mind having a few more healthy dishes on the
table.
Don’t Restrict Yourself – Instead of punishing yourself from
enjoying the foods you love on this Thanksgiving Day, why not try potion
control instead? If you find yourself
getting two big spoons of mashed potatoes, STOP at one! Enjoy the things you love but do it in
moderation.
Be Thankful – The most important Thanksgiving Tips is to be
Thankful! Take this time to reflect on
all the positive things that have happened in your life instead of the
negative. Be thankful for family,
friends, health, love, life and whatever else comes to mind. You might even want to make a list so you can
refer to it later when you’re feeling down.
Have A Very Happy Thanksgiving!!
